East-European forest experiment station was established in 1926. Principal areas of activities: development of forest management systems for mid-Volga region (the Republics of Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Udmurtia, Mary El and Uljanovskaya, Orenburskaya, Saratovskaya regions). Research areas – thinnings, forest plantations, tree species breeding and seed production, forest protection against pests and diseases.
